Kathleen Hannah

(she/her)

Co-CEO + Events Manager

  • Kathleen’s passion for protecting the environment saw her complete a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology and Ecology and an Honours Degree studying the use of Chronomids as a biomonitoring tool for aquatic salinity. An interest and desire to inspire saw Kathleen graduate with a Diploma of Primary Education and has since taught across both Primary and Secondary year levels.

    Kathleen has had the privilege of living, working, and learning in a number of Indigenous Communities across the Top End of Australia as both a classroom teacher in a remote community in the Kimberley and working in various positions for the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Education.

    Kathleen’s motivation to reach out and assist the Global Community of women and girls in need saw her start up and coordinate a local chapter of 'Days for Girls', a volunteer based, not-for-profit organisation providing handmade reusable menstrual kits in Bellingen.

Amy Denshire

Co-CEO + Communications Manager

  • Amy is passionate about how effective communication can contribute to the change that is needed.

    Trained in Industrial Design, Secondary Teaching, and Community Development, Amy brings experience in communication, marketing, community engagement, web and graphic design, grants and event management to OzGREEN.

    Amy is proud of her work leading the Bellingen Riverwatch to grow to become the largest water quality monitoring citizen science program in New South Wales and the largest macroinvertebrate monitoring citizen science program in Australia, and possibly the world.

    In her role overseeing organisation-wide communications, Amy is focused upon being data and impact driven and upon continual refinement.

Sue Lennox AM

2020 NSW Senior Australian of the Year

  • To Sue, OzGREEN is not a job – it is her strategic response to her deep concern for the environment and her vision to build a more sustainable, peaceful and equitable world. Sue, along with her husband Colin, has been the driving force behind OzGREEN since its’ inception.

    Sue is a social entrepreneur (Social Ventures Australia Big Boost 2002) and a former high school science teacher. She has played a key role in the design and delivery of OzGREEN programs since it began in 1992. These programs have directly involved over 50,000 people from urban, regional, remote, corporate and Indigenous communities in Australia, India, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, USA, Canada and Central America. Sue was named as one of the Most Influential People in Sydney in 2007 and 2020 NSW Senior Australian of the Year.

Lily Kostka

  • With a background in ecological horticulture and organic food production, Kaleb has a deep interest in ethnobotany and learning from Indigenous cultures to find solutions to the biggest issues we face as a society, specifically relating to production of food, medicine and functional materials.

    Kaleb envisions a future where all nations and cultures come together to focus on caring for the planet and all of its residents, and believes the education and empowerment of young people today is a fundamental component of achieving this.

  • Sam is a passionate young environmentalist who is dedicated to empowering and educating young people about the importance of protecting and preserving the local environment.

    Sam's love for nature was instilled in them during childhood, where Sam spent countless hours camping, hiking, and having adventures in the great outdoors. This has led Sam to develop a deep care and passion for minimizing his individual impact on the planet, and they is committed to using their skills and knowledge to make a difference in the world.

    Currently Sam works as OzGREEN's Youth Activities Coordinator, and also the Bellingen Riverwatch Coordinator. Sam is responsible for organising fun and educational environmental events for young people, and has been able to channel creativity in a meaningful way, and pursue an ever growing interest in science through this role.

    With a large focus on bringing youth voice into all of OzGREEN's programs Sam is a great addition to the team and provides a unique opportunity for OzGREEN to connect deeply with young people in the region.
